Started in radio, which is not the best place to learn good voice over skills. But, it was a starting point just the same...with my being hired as a pure novice by a talk radio station from which my journey took me to Contemporary Christian, Country & later back to news-talk. While working in the country format, met a popular on air personality, who showed me some of what it takes to be a voice over artist. Also, within that time span, met a manager at what is now Spectrum, who linked me up with both his facility and introduced me to several others for whom I served as a voice over talent. However, my friend and current voice coach pulled me aside to point out the flaws in my style, and worked with me to change my style to a truly marketable one that will help me in securing more voice over opportunities.
